Sustainability
Alhambra must be prepared for the challenges of extreme heat, poor air quality, drought, and climate emergencies, like the 2025 Eaton Fire. At ActiveSGV, I worked to make San Gabriel Valley communities healthier, greener, and more resilient for more than a decade. I've helped deliver clean energy programs, safer streets, community greening projects, park improvements, air quality protections, and brought millions of dollars in public investments.
As City Councilmember I will work to:
Plant more trees and build shade canopies at bus stops, to expand shade infrastructure
Encourage the use of native plants in landscaping and bioswales to capture stormwater
Invest in stormwater and climate-resilient infrastructure
Prepare for extreme heat days and climate emergencies with cooling centers and resource distributions, such as giving away free air purifiers and masks
Support energy efficiency, electrification, and renewable energy by maintaining a strong relationship with Clean Power Alliance
